Please review blog pages for place value to hundred million. (Extra pages to practice)
You should be able to:

  • add and subtract numbers
  • name the digit in an identified place 
  • addition and subtraction of decimals  (to thousandths)

Putting on our Creative Thinking Caps

After much anticipation, we have finally started writing our fractured fairy tales. We have covered six very important Story Elements. Below is an anchor chart we have in our class to remind us what they are. Students have been brainstorming ideas for their fractured stories, and organized them on a story map. We are using the graphic organizer maps to guide us as we write. These are kept inside their duotangs, and students are welcome to take them home anytime to share their work. Review: adding and subtracting decimals Math:  We are beginning to explore multiplication strategies. Understanding the pattern can be helpful.  Every multiplication has a twin, which may be easier to remember. For example, if you forget 8×2, you might remember 2×8=16. This way, you only have to remember half the table.
